Wars of God

Who is Jesus?

a message to the children of god

Jesus Christ is your King! He is the great King. He has always existed and He created this whole physical world. He was called many names such as Adonai (Lord) and Elohim (God) by the faithful children of God long ago, and when He took up the task of being physically born into this world as a man, He made Himself known by the name Yeshua Ha-Mashiach (the Annointed, He will save). This is a Hebrew name and when translated into Greek, it is Iesous Christos. When Iesous is translated into Latin, it is Jesu. Those who speak English call Him by the name Jesus Christ. According to the Hebrew language, this name means something like, 'the anointed who will save,' and the great King is exactly that.

...[Jesus] rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:12-17, NASB)
...although [Jesus] existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11, NASB)
"I and the Father are one." - Jesus (John 10:30, NASB)

Jesus is your King. He and God are one and all things originate from Him. Anyone who has seen and known Him has equally seen and known God. Jesus cares greatly for you and understands how difficult it is to live in this often hostile and confusing world.

He gave Himself up as a ransom for many so that we could be with Him for eternity and do the best we can for Him. He chose to live on this Earth as a man in order to purchase us through the sacrifice of His very life; to clear all accusations against us and rescue us from the threat of eternal separation from Him so that we could eternally serve Him and remain with Him. And after He died on this Earth, He returned to life and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven. He and God the Father are one, and He promised us that we will each also physically rise out of death and receive a new body in just the same way that He did.

God the Father has transferred all of His authority to God the Son, that is, Jesus. And when Jesus returns, He is going to bring true justice and peace. He is our comfort and our strength.

So believe in your King Jesus. He loves you. Read for yourself in the Bible of the mighty and astonishing things He has done in the past, the things He is presently doing, and the things He will soon do in the future. Seek out understanding, pray that He protect you and provide for you, desire that all of His plans be accomplished on this Earth, and know with confidence that in the end He will deal righteously with everyone and establish true justice once and for all.

Whether we like it or not, at the name of our King every knee will soon bow, and every tongue will soon confess that He alone, Jesus Christ, is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. For you children of God, this is something that you will do, because you belong to Him. It is the cry of your spirit to serve and worship your King and to defend and proclaim His name to all the nations. And we can trust that He will care for us and will deal righteously with us, because we love Him and we were called according to His purposes.

And He loves you. He died for you nearly 2,000 years ago so that you could be with Him forever, and you will believe in Him. He is the way, truth, and light, so turn away from this perverse world and its endless oppression and instead walk in the truth that will set you free and abide in Him. Serve Him and live righteously before Him as best as you can, and He will straighten your paths, strengthen your spirit, lift you up to higher places, and help you make the right choices on this Earth so that your character might in time resemble His own character. Great adventures, struggles, and triumphs await those who are loyal to their King, and a great rank and rewards are waiting at judgment for those who do their best for Him. And His Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God, will comfort you and guide you in all truth. So enjoy your new life of hope and understanding, and to Him be the glory, honor, and power forever and ever.
